Call to Order The meeting was called to order at 6:37 PM by Chair Philip Mansell. II. Demolition 1. HPC20252779 – 1076 Canton Street – Approval for the demolition of an existing historic structure RESULT: DEFERRED [UNANIMOUS] MOVER: Mark Donnolo, Vice Chair SECONDER: Ron Jackson, Commissioner IN FAVOR: Philip Mansell, Mark Donnolo, Ron Jackson, Mary Nichols ABSENT: Lossie Lively, Gurtej Narang, Michael Sutton III. Certificate of Appropriateness 2. HPC 20252820 – 1076 Canton Street – Certificate of Appropriateness for new construction Approved with the following conditions: 1. This approval does not include the demolition of any historic portion of the primary structure but can include removal of non-historic portions of the primary structure that are connected to the historic portions;*
2. The applicants must submit a detailed engineering report to the Chief Building Official, Planning & Zoning Director, and Historic District Planner so that the building can withstand the scope of work; 3. The building must be inspected by the Chief Building Official to demonstrate that it can withstand partial reconstruction without demolition; 4. The applicant must adhere to any and all shoring requirements issued by the Chief Building Official; 5. Applicants must provide staff with details of any and all structures and objects being placed in the setbacks within the proposed fenced enclosure on the South-side of the primary structure for review; 6. Administrative HPC approval must be obtained for the proposed wood fencing. Fencing must either be stained a shade of dark brown or painted to match the primary structure; and 7. Applicant must submit an updated lighting package and photometric plan that meets photometric maximums of 1.0 foot-candles at the property line.
