As the leaves begin to hint at their autumn colors, Roswell's city government continues its work. Here's a look at what happened last week and what's coming up.

Last week's meetings

  • The Mayor and Council met on September 4th to approve the budget for the new downtown revitalization project, allocating $5 million for infrastructure improvements and public art installations.
  • The Planning Commission held a public hearing on September 5th regarding a proposed zoning change for the property at 123 Main Street, which would allow for the construction of a new mixed-use development.

Looking ahead

  • The Parks and Recreation Committee will convene on September 12th to discuss the final plans for the new community garden at Riverside Park and review proposals for the annual Fall Festival.
  • The Historic Preservation Commission has a meeting scheduled for September 15th to consider an application for exterior renovations to the historic Smith House located at 456 Oak Avenue.
