Last week's meetings

  • The Mayor and Council met on November 10 to recognize Marine Sergeant Garrett Maxedon and Division Chief Officer Chris Cavender, approve contracts for the Crabapple Center roof replacement ($2.4M) and LED light conversion ($3.6M), and award a contract for the Grimes Bridge Soccer Fields ($3.5M).
  • The Mayor and Council held a special called meeting on November 10 to approve a recommendation for closure to discuss personnel, litigation, and real estate.
  • The Committees of Council met on November 10 to approve an MOU with American Medical Response (AMR) for traffic preemption system access and a resolution to apply for a FY2025 Bulletproof Vest Partnership Grant, both moving to Mayor and Council.
  • The Historic Preservation Commission met on November 12 to defer a Certificate of Appropriateness application for exterior renovation (paint) at 617 Atlanta Street to allow for a paint expert's test patch review.

Looking ahead

  • The Planning Commission will meet on November 18 to consider preliminary plat renewals for 'The Gardens at Sweet Apple' (18 single-family lots) and 'Cottages on Jones' (5 single-family lots).
  • The Development Impact Fee Advisory Committee will meet on November 18 to hear the Q3 economic development report, preliminary results of the Comprehensive Growth Plan, and discuss impact fees for development categories.
