As the days grow shorter and a crispness enters the air, Roswell's local government continues its important work, addressing key issues and planning for the future.

Last week's meetings

  • The Mayor and Council met on September 8 to adopt a millage rate of 4.949 for Tax Year 2025 and consider issuing $25,000,000 in DDA Revenue Bonds for the Hill Street parking deck project.
  • The Mayor and Council also held a special called meeting on September 8 to discuss personnel, litigation, and real estate matters in an executive session.
  • The Alcoholic Beverage License Board met on September 4 to hold public hearings for new alcohol license applications for Spice of Thai and Ateca Grocery.
  • The Roswell Recreation Commission met on September 4 to review the revised 2025 Capital Project List, including updates on various park and recreation facility projects and river parks.
  • The Roswell Recreation Commission Work Session met on September 4 to receive an informational update regarding the planning for the 2025 Youth Day Parade.

Looking ahead

  • The Historic Preservation Commission will meet on September 10 to review a Certificate of Appropriateness for the partial demolition and restoration of 1076 Canton Street and consider replacing a retaining wall at 52 Goulding Place.
