As the crisp air of autumn begins to settle in, your city government has been busy. Here's a look at what happened last week and what's coming up.
Last week's meetings
- The Mayor and Council met on September 3rd to approve the new budget for the Parks and Recreation Department, allocating $1.2 million for the Thomas Jefferson bike trail expansion.
- The Planning Commission held a public hearing on September 5th regarding a proposed rezoning application for the property at 123 Main Street, which was ultimately tabled for further review.
- The Alcoholic Beverage Board convened on September 6th and approved a new liquor license for "The Thirsty Goat" restaurant located at 456 Oak Avenue.
Looking ahead
- The City Council will hold its regular meeting on September 11th, where they are expected to vote on the tabled rezoning application for 123 Main Street and discuss a new proposal for downtown revitalization.
- The Public Works Committee is scheduled to meet on September 12th to review bids for the upcoming road resurfacing projects on Elm Street and Maple Avenue.
- The Historic Preservation Commission will meet on September 15th to consider an application for exterior modifications to the historic building at 789 Pine Lane.
