As the leaves begin to hint at autumn's arrival, Roswell's city government has been busy addressing important community matters. Here's a look at what happened last week and what's coming up.

Last week's meetings

  • The Mayor and Council met on September 3rd to approve the new budget for the Parks and Recreation Department, allocating $1.5 million for the Thomas Jefferson bike trail expansion.
  • The Planning Commission discussed a zoning variance request for a new commercial development at 123 Main Street on September 5th, deferring the decision to the next meeting.

Looking ahead

  • The Public Works Committee will meet on September 12th to review proposals for the upcoming road resurfacing projects on Elm Street and Oak Avenue.
  • The Alcoholic Beverage Board has a hearing scheduled for September 15th regarding a new liquor license application for "The Thirsty Goose" restaurant at 456 Market Street.
